IBPS PO Age Eligibility Calculator

Check your exact age against the IBPS PO/MT 20-30 year band, with OBC/SC-ST/PwBD relaxations. Sourced against the IBPS CRP PO/MT-XVI 2026 notification.

Age limits verified 2026-08 against IBPS CRP PO/MT-XVI 2026 Notification (released 30 June 2026), ibps.in — always confirm against the current-year official notification before applying. Ex-servicemen and a few other departmental categories get service-linked relaxations that this calculator does not model — check the notification's relaxation table directly if that applies to you.

How to Use the IBPS PO Age Eligibility Calculator

  1. Enter your date of birth.
  2. Confirm or edit the cutoff date — pre-filled against the IBPS CRP PO/MT-XVI 2026 notification's reference date.
  3. Select your category — General/EWS, OBC, SC/ST, or PwBD.
  4. Click Check eligibility to see your exact age and whether you fall inside the 20–30 year band.

Everything runs as plain JavaScript in your browser tab — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.

The IBPS PO Age Band

IBPS PO/MT (Probationary Officer / Management Trainee) requires candidates to be at least 20 years old and to not have crossed 30 years as on the notification's reference date. As with every exam in this family, the upper bound is exclusive: a candidate who turns exactly 30 on the reference date has already crossed the limit, and the oldest eligible candidate is one day short of their 30th birthday.

Category-wise Relaxation

CategoryRelaxation on upper age
General / EWS+0
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)+3 years
SC / ST+5 years
PwBD (all categories)+10 years

Eligible Ex-servicemen and a handful of other departmental categories (e.g. persons affected by the 1984 riots) get their own relaxation provisions that this calculator doesn't model as a flat number — check the notification's relaxation table directly if one of those applies to you.

Why IBPS PO's Cutoff Date Moves Every Year

IBPS runs a fresh Common Recruitment Process (CRP) for Probationary Officers every year, and each cycle's notification states its own reference date for age calculation — it is not always the same calendar date year to year. The 20–30 year band itself has been stable for a long time, but the exact reference date shifts with each CRP cycle's notification. This calculator's cutoff date is editable specifically so you can re-check it against next year's CRP notification without needing a different tool.

What Disqualifies You

  • Being younger than 20, or having already turned 30 (or your relaxed upper limit), as on the reference date.
  • Not holding a bachelor's degree from a recognised university — IBPS PO's minimum qualification requirement is separate from, and in addition to, the age criterion.
  • Claiming a category relaxation without a currently-valid caste/disability certificate in the format IBPS prescribes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the relaxation apply to the minimum age too? No — only the upper age limit is relaxed; every candidate, regardless of category, must be at least 20.

Is the age band the same for Probationary Officer and Management Trainee? Yes — IBPS treats PO and MT as the same recruitment stream with an identical age band in the current cycle.

Can I use this for a different bank's PO exam, like SBI PO? No — each bank publishes its own notification with its own age band and reference date. Use the dedicated SBI PO age eligibility calculator on this site instead.

Is this the official IBPS eligibility checker? No. This is an independent, browser-only estimate built from the CRP PO/MT-XVI 2026 notification. Always cross-check your exact date of birth and category against the notification PDF at ibps.in.

Is my data stored anywhere? No. The check runs entirely in your browser; nothing is transmitted to a server.
