How to Use the SBI PO Age Eligibility Calculator
- Enter your date of birth.
- Confirm or edit the cutoff date — pre-filled against the SBI PO 2026 recruitment notification's reference date.
- Select your category — General/EWS, OBC, SC/ST, or one of the three PwBD tiers.
- Click Check eligibility to see your exact age and whether you fall inside the 21–30 year band.
Everything runs as plain JavaScript in your browser tab — nothing you enter is uploaded or stored.
The SBI PO Age Band
SBI PO (Probationary Officer) requires candidates to be at least 21 years old and to not have crossed 30 years as on the notification's reference date. As with every exam in this family, the upper bound is exclusive: a candidate who turns exactly 30 on the reference date has already crossed the limit, and the oldest eligible candidate is one day short of their 30th birthday. Note SBI PO's minimum age (21) is a year higher than IBPS PO's (20) — a common point of confusion between the two.
Category-wise Relaxation
SBI publishes a finer-grained PwBD table than most other banks:
| Category | Relaxation on upper age |
|---|---|
| General / EWS | +0 |
| OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) | +3 years |
| SC / ST | +5 years |
| PwBD (General/EWS) | +10 years |
| PwBD (OBC-NCL) | +13 years |
| PwBD (SC/ST) | +15 years |
Eligible Ex-servicemen and a few other departmental categories get their own relaxation provisions that this calculator doesn't model as a flat number — check the notification's relaxation table directly if one of those applies to you.
Why SBI PO's Cutoff Date Moves Every Year
SBI runs a fresh recruitment cycle for Probationary Officers every year, and each notification states its own reference date for age calculation. The 21–30 year band itself has been stable for a long time, but the exact reference date can shift with each cycle's notification. This calculator's cutoff date is editable specifically so you can re-check it against a future cycle's notification without needing a different tool.
What Disqualifies You
- Being younger than 21, or having already turned 30 (or your relaxed upper limit), as on the reference date.
- Not holding a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university — SBI PO's minimum qualification requirement is separate from, and in addition to, the age criterion.
- Claiming a category relaxation without a currently-valid caste/disability certificate in the format SBI prescribes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is SBI PO's minimum age 21, not 20 like IBPS PO? The two banks set their own eligibility criteria independently; SBI has consistently used 21 as its minimum for PO while IBPS uses 20 across its member banks.
Does the relaxation apply to the minimum age too? No — only the upper age limit is relaxed; every candidate, regardless of category, must be at least 21.
Can I use this for SBI Clerk instead? No — SBI Clerk has its own, lower age band (20–28). Use the dedicated SBI Clerk age eligibility calculator on this site.
Is this the official SBI eligibility checker? No. This is an independent, browser-only estimate built from the SBI PO 2026 recruitment notification. Always cross-check your exact date of birth and category against the notification PDF at sbi.co.in.
Is my data stored anywhere? No. The check runs entirely in your browser; nothing is transmitted to a server.
